What do you think is the no.1 mistake?
It is not separating business and personal life.
When you are starting your coaching business as a solopreneur or a coachpreneur, you are your brand.
Most of the coaches have their name as a brand. My brand is Kavitha the Coach and that includes my name.
As a coachpreneur, you may feel that you are your brand which is partially true but not entirely true.
You are your brand, no doubt.
You are not only your brand, you are many things more than your brand.
Your brand is one of the many roles you have.
In the beginning, you may mix and match both. as you grow as a big brand you need to keep the distance.
It’s difficult to redo things at a later stage.
so from the beginning keep your brand that is your business and personal life different.
Especially for women coaches when we start our coaching journey in the home in a confined space in the home and our first customers are usually our friends and family it is difficult to draw the line in the beginning.
After experiencing in personal life and after working and speaking with many women coaches, I understand how it is important to keep both worlds separate to get the best of both worlds.
Yes, I can hear you saying, ok Kavitha I agree. Now let me know how to do it?
Patience my dear.
Yes, I am coming to that point
The top 5 things you need to do, to keep your business and personal life away from each other as a coachpreneur- that is a coach entrepreneur are

5 Ways to avoid the No.1 Mistake Most of the Coaches Do
1, Separate Email id's for Business and Personal Use-Avoid the Mistake most Coaches do
Start maintaining a separate email id for personal use – to connect with family and friends and another one for business use- to communicate with leads, contacts, and customers.
It is a common mistake that many people make. They use their personal email id for business purposes, which can lead to some problems in the future. For example, if you are contacting your business leads and not having a brand or business email id, it can be a red flag.
Separate email ids are beneficial because they will keep your business life separate from your personal life.
If you have a website, you can have a business email id from the website. If you don’t have a website yet, then create a separate Gmail id with a brand name or your name.
You must make it a habit from the beginning to keep both worlds separate. Your first clients are friends and family still once show interest in your coaching services then start sending them emails from your business email id as they have converted as a business leader. so treat them as a business lead so they also know and understand you as a coach.
As a coach, you should have separate email ids because it is important to keep the two worlds separate. By using different emails you will be able to maintain that with ease.
2,Different Phone numbers for Business and Personal Use
Maintain Separate phone numbers for personal and business
One of the mistakes that coaches make is to have the same phone number for their business and personal lives.
I did the same mistake in the beginning.
This can be a big problem because I cannot answer family and friends calls when I am working and vice versa. I didn’t want to attend business calls when spending time with family.
If possible, maintain the separate phone numbers with different phones. You can have one phone exclusively for your business and one more for personal.
By maintaining separate phone numbers on 2 different phones, I could keep the other phone silent and do my work peacefully or spend time with family without any guilt.
There are many reasons why this is important, but one of the main reasons is that you need to have time for yourself outside of work. You also need time to take care of your family, friends, and other responsibilities that you might have outside of work.
Many coaches mix up their business and personal life. They need to separate the two, so they can focus on one thing at a time.
You must have separate Whatsapp numbers and groups, Telegram, and other apps with different numbers.
Keeping the two worlds separate is a boon from the beginning. You can thank me later for this tip.
3, Separate Bank Accounts for Entrepreneurship and Personal Expenses
It is important to have separate bank accounts for personal and business. It will help you keep your personal and business finances separate. You will also be able to track your spending more easily.
The best way to do this is to open a new account at a different bank. You can then transfer all your funds from your old account into the new one.
You need not open a current account in your brand name. As a beginner coach, you can start separate savings account in your name, in a different bank.
You can also have separate credit cards for personal use and business-related recurring expenditures. This will immensely help you in the long run.
Are you wondering , what else you could do to keep your personal and business life away from each other ? Read on!
4, Separate Space for Coaching Business
Maintain Separate space for working in home – a separate room or confined space
Working in a confined space is not an easy task. It requires a different environment and mindset.
The physical environment of the workplace is important for productivity. The physical environment of the home is usually less conducive to work than that of an office because it lacks the necessary equipment and infrastructure.
A confined space can be a room or any other area with limited access to fresh air, natural light, and ventilation.
A confined space can also be an area that has limited access to food, water, or other necessities for survival.
The confined space can be used as a metaphor for one’s mental state when they are feeling trapped in their life or job situation.
Working in a confined space can be beneficial for many people. It can help them focus better and get more done.
As a women coach, if you can’t get a separate room for your activities then have a separate confined space. It can be a small space like your work desk where you keep your business-related stuff. Sit there and do your business-related work there. Don’t use that space to your browse your phone or read your favourite novel or to eat or chat with your friends on phone.
keep it only for business-related work. This way you can prime your environment and mindset for productivity with fewer efforts.
You can also send unspoken signals to your family that if you are working in that space or room they can. They will respect your time and space. Very young children also understand this.
Also when you work in your space, don’t work in your pyjamas or nighties. Dress up formally as though you are going to your office.
After all, you are the CEO of your brand so dress up like one.
5, Separate Notebooks for Coaching Business and Personal Use
The best way to come up with content ideas is to write them down. This will help you avoid writer’s block and it will also help you organize your thoughts.
A separate notebook for content ideas and rough drafts is a good idea because it will help you stay organized. You can also use this notebook as a place where you can keep track of your progress and your goals.
It is important to keep a separate notebook for content ideas and rough drafts. This will help you organize your thoughts and ideas better. It will also allow you to have a clear overview of what you have written so far.
This will also help you avoid writer’s block because the ideas are all in one place. You can easily go back to an idea that you had before and use it for your current project.
Even though you can use different apps like Evernote, Google drive or Todoist, or Trello, using a small notebook and pen can never beat it at any point in time.
Don’t use the same notebook for your Gratitude journal or Home expenses. You can keep a notebook for business ideas, content ideas, and Business expenses. Again the concept is to keep your two worlds separate so you can have fun and peace in both.
These are the 5 things you need to do to avoid the no.1 mistake most coaches do.
